Originally born in Canada, Deanna moved to Cayman in 2003 and has never looked back. Her career started in 1998 after graduating with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University in Canada and landing a job in a joint physiotherapy and chiropractic clinic. She became a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, a Certified Stott Pilates Instructor and has recently become Titleist Performance Institute Certified.
Deanna's personal fitness journey has included competitive rope skipping, running a marathon, finding the practice of pilates and most recently a passion for stand up paddleboarding (SUP) and surfing. Deanna became a flat water SUP instructor in 2014 and started 'Liquid Life", aptly named for the love of paddling and the positive energy that the sea brings to people. Her hope is that everyone in life can find an activity they love and that brings them the same amount of joy that paddling and surfing has brought to her own.
As a professional, Deanna is experienced, qualified and trains with compassion, patience and good judgement. She is certified to work with people who may require special assistance due to injury or other health issues such as stroke, heart disease or diabetes.
"Every person should be given the chance to find a way to move and feel free - just like the sea" - Deanna Smith, Instructor/Owner
